The last time this happened it errupted for two years!

I think this shows that we cannot rely on living globally – we need at least a minimum level of self-sufficiency, at household level, town level, county level and country level. We shouldn’t rely on getting our food from abroad. If(when) a serious global incident (disease, climate change, drought, war, nuclear attack, etc) we will be plunged into anarchy and civil war.

Our lifestyle is simply not sustainable.

@ravensburger89 if you’re not blind, I’m simply complaining about the volcano, not the authority’s policies dealing with the eruption. Learn to read the message before criticizing you dumb shit.

Latest propaganda from Sky……..”500 Tons fo ash is gettig BLASTED into the sky every second.”. Trust them to be ojjective and not to resort to hysterical creative statistics. 500 tons a second…..AS IF THEY KNEW! Why not be honest and just say A LOT.

dancingsatyr December 19, 2011 at 9:45 am

01:40 I cannot understand a *uck of what he say!

Stewie4321 December 19, 2011 at 10:02 am

The reason that the whole of Europe is closed is because London has taken the job of arbitrating volcano risk assesment as their sole responsibility. The problem with this is that if they make the wrong call, they are open to huge class action suits, and on a simple risk assesment i.e….how much is lost in airtravel Vs cost of litigation against the London agency,……..its an obvious choice, take the safe option and sell it on public safety concerns.

ExoticIslandx December 19, 2011 at 10:03 am

@hallal6 he is my brother; and yes peterhead.

ExoticIslandx December 19, 2011 at 10:57 am

Stewie4321 December 19, 2011 at 11:57 am

Listen Numbnuts…..I live there and there is no smog ALL over Europe……there is a plume from the volcano which reaches the north of Scotland and no its not that extensive. This is another example of the media dictating policy…..just like when they pumped the WMD bull, to start two disastrous wars. Do you even know where Europe is?

Aikay373 December 19, 2011 at 12:31 pm

1:43 April Fools joke, someone has no life. =)) LoL

insane250 December 19, 2011 at 1:04 pm

@Stewie4321 lol? right? the smog is all over europe now dumbtard

Stewie4321 December 19, 2011 at 1:05 pm

@DuncanLafayette That does not answer the question….WHY NOT FLY AROUND THE CLOUD?….and spare me the Oh! there are very complex technical reasons why this cant be done. No there are not…..that’s bull! Thats almost like Paulson claiming that he was flogging highly complex financial products from Goldman Sachs……NO HE WAS NOT! …..they were buckets of crap mortgages that were dumped in all our pension funds.

DuncanLafayette December 19, 2011 at 1:44 pm

This situation is of no benefit to anyone. All airlines are losing a lot of money on account of this unexpected natural phenomenon. Some airlines were already in trouble because of the global crisis, and now this will be the coup de grâce for them.
Many other air companies will end up asking the governments for compensations and financial aid to keep them alive.

So, who will foot the bill of this disaster?? Of course, ME and the rest of taxpayers…as always!!!

Attilaakiraly December 19, 2011 at 2:42 pm

this time Mother nature pulled an April fool joke.

Attilaakiraly December 19, 2011 at 2:59 pm

@anopinjama oh shut up.

Stewie4321 December 19, 2011 at 3:57 pm

Listen Syhitforbrains I dont hear any great ideas from you……Whats your suggestion, sit in airports for the rest of the year while smart people try to find solutions. This is another “NON crisis” being pumped up by the propaganda networks like SKY and BBC.

polop666 December 19, 2011 at 4:17 pm

Stewie4321 you are the biggest moron ever seriously your answer to this is “steer around it and put more fuel in the tank”????? Seriously get some brain cells
